LANGKAWI – The Crown Prince of Kedah, His Royal Highness Tunku Shazuddin Ariff ibni Al-Aminul Karim Sultan Sallehudin, and the Crown Princess of Kedah, Her Royal Highness Che Puan Nur Julie Arif, attended the Opening Ceremony and Team Introduction of the PETRONAS Le Tour de Langkawi 2024 at Dataran Lang, this evening.

Their arrival was welcomed by the Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, the Honorable Tuan Adam Adli bin Abdul Halim; the Kedah Exco for Youth and Sports, the Honorable Tuan Haji Radhi Mat Din; and the Kedah Exco for Tourism, Culture, and Entrepreneurship, Dato’ Mohd Salleh Saidin.

Also present were Langkawi District Officer, Mr. Mohd. Subhi Abdullah; the Director General of the National Sports Council, Haji Abdul Rashid Yaakub; the General Manager of Strategic Communication Relations at Petroliam Nasional Berhad (PETRONAS), Siti Safarina Amrita Alias and the Acting President of the Malaysian National Cycling Federation, Mazlan Md Jail.

This event marks the beginning of the 28th edition of the race this year.

In addition to traditional performances, guests were also treated with a video presentation showcasing this premier cycling race in Asia.

Subsequently, all participating teams for this year were introduced.

Starting from September 29 in Langkawi, LTdl 2024 will feature 22 teams with 132 riders, including three World Teams, competing across seven locations in Peninsular Malaysia and Sarawak.

Apart from the overall championship, riders will also compete for prestigious titles such as King of the Mountains, Best Rider, and Best Asian Rider.
